SonicWALL Email Security OS 8.3 - Ports and Services Reference Guide

Email Security ports and services

In addition to SMTP, SonicWALL™ Email Security uses several other standard protocols for management, communication and updates. Depending on the network configuration and placement of Email Security and other required services, some or all of these protocols require corresponding ports to be opened in a company firewall. In many instances, the administrator needs to specify whether these are TCP ports or UDP ports.

The following tables detail the standard services used by Email Security in either All-In-One or Split Mode. Due to various configurations and the ability to change the ports, this information is provided as a guideline only. It may need to be customized depending on how and where Email Security is deployed. For more information see the Ports and Services used by Email Security (SW4269) at https://support.software.dell.com/kb/sw4269.
